Before we go deep into discussing where to, far and wide in this world, should we take a trip this fall and upcoming Thanksgiving, we should first look into the hidden jewels that our beloved New York City has to offer. An added bonus? All free!
We all know how expensive New York can be; there is no doubt about it! And even more so when you come in as a tourist: flight costs, hotel accommodation (which never comes cheap), eating out, museum fares for at least $15, those must have clothes and electronics, a Broadway show, and the list is never ending. NY is tricky; yes, many discount stores with amazing deals; but they add up quickly when facing a long shopping list for your family.
This is why Lonely Planet came up with a great list of 40 of New York’s free attractions, to accommodate those tight budgets. Sightseeing does not mean missing on all the fun the city has to give: there is so much to see, without pinching a dime! Some you may know, some you may have never heard of.
