Yesterday marked the start of the Chinese Lunar New Year 2012, the Year of the Dragon, which is thought to be a year of good fortune and power. The below images are a showcase of the New Year celebrations that took place in Beijing and Shanghai. Looking back on my thrilling trip to China in 2011, I can only envision how fun they must have been.
Back in NYC, the Empire State Building was lit red and yellow in honor of the Chinese Lunar New Year. as seen from Brooklyn.
